Up one level

Bangalore, India

The group of Rahul Pandit at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore by Rahul Pandit — last modified 2007-03-20 11:16
My research group consists of 5 PhD students. Three of them work on various aspects of turbulence (fluid, passive scalar, MHD, and turbulence in fluids with polymer additives); the other two work on detailed mathematical models for cardiac tissue (spiral turbulence in such models is believed to be the analogue of life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias like ventricular fibrillation). We also have strong interactions with other groups on our campus (in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering Departments) and groups in nearby Institutes (like the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research). Research topics in flud turbulence: Dynamic multiscaling (in fluid and passive-scalar turbulence); multiscaling in Burgers turbulence; multiscaling in MHD turbulence; dynamos in MHD turbulence; drag reduction and related phenomena in fluid turbulence with polymer additives. Expertise: DNS for the types of problems mentioned above.
